PUNCTURE REPAIRS

Driving with a flat tyre can be very dangerous. It can also damage the wheel and other parts of the vehicle associated with contact on the road surface. It is important to identify if your tyre requires a repair or replacement and this can be safely done by visiting a reputable tyre dealer.

BEARINGS

Wheel bearings are important components of a vehicle’s braking, steering, and suspension systems. It enables the wheel to rotate smoothly with a minimum of friction. It is very dangerous to drive if one of your bearings is worn out as it may cause the wheel to stop while driving.

CV JOINTS

A CV joint doesn’t need any maintenance and can last very long. The most common problem with CV joints is when the protective boot cracks or gets damage, if caught early, simply replacing the boot and repacking the CV joint with fresh grease is all that is usually needed.

TOWBARS

if you’re a fan of trailing, camping, boating or if you’re the adventurous sort who likes to go out on long driving adventures, having a tow bar also helps when you need to increase or maximize your vehicle’s living space by towing a camper trailer. Purchasing a towbar is an investment, so buying the right towbar and having it professionally fitted is a worthwhile investment.

NITROGEN

Nitrogen tyres maintain their pressure for longer. When tyres get hot, their inflation pressure increases. This makes the tyre’s footprint (the part that touches the road) much smaller. A smaller footprint can cause your tyres to lose grip. Filling your tyres with nitrogen will allow them to run at a lower temperature. This means that: Your tyre’s footprint will be larger, improving grip and road handling. Your tyres will last up to 20% longer.

BRAKES

An effective braking system allows the tyres to work at their best and vice versa. All the braking power in the world is irrelevant if the tyres aren’t able to hold the car safely in a straight line. The stickiest of tyres are useless if the braking system keeps locking up and shifting the responsibility to simple friction between road and rubber. We supply & fit new brakes on all leading vehicle makes. Make use of our free brake safety inspection to check the status of your brakes.

SUSPENSION

Suspension systems must support both roads holding/handling and ride quality. Some of the commonly identified signs of damaged suspensions include, clucking noises when hitting a bump, irregular tyre wear, bumpy ride, erratic braking. Having a bad suspension can greatly affect your ability to control the vehicle, especially when stopping or turning, so it’s in your best interest not to ignore this part of auto maintenance.

ALIGNMENT & BALANCING

Tyres need looking after for them to last. One way to care for them is to check your car’s wheel alignment between every 8000 to 10 000 km and not just when you feel a shudder or a shake. The goal of tyre balance is to distribute weight equally around the entire circumference of the tyre. Most manufacturers recommend that all four tyres should be rotated and balanced approximately every seven thousand miles.
